“How'd this get 3 stars? Noisy, dirty, lacking hotel. We were booked this hotel through a travel agent for our honeymoon (won't use the agency again). Supposedly this is a 3 star hotel but there is nothing that even makes that mid-range rating make sense.Hotel lobby is clean and tidy. Front desk staff were nice but couldn't be accommodating as I quote "our general manager Jeff won't let us do that {very typical service} or we'll get yelled at".They seemed to want to help, but couldn't supposedly.Again, our honeymoon and that was made clear. They put us near the ground floor, even though we booked months in advance and requested a high floor. We entered our very basic room (bed, dresser, closet, tv, balcony, fridge) and found two double beds. We immediately called, re-emphasized we were there for our honeymoon and BOOKED a KING and they moved us a floor higher w a Queen bed. We were over it after travelling 12 hours.Rooms, hallways, pretty much everywhere, seemed pretty rundown, except the lobby. Stains everywhere around the carpets. Very basic / minimal bedding. Rooms are spacious but that's only because they have so little in them.On top of everything else, they charge a "resort fee". This hotel is far from a resort. They claim that you get all these additional amenities but in reality, these are all things you get from any hotel - even1 star ones. The resort fee isabout $36/day and includes things like telephone, towels, lock box, etc. Nothing fancy you may expect from a resort. No food/drinks/room service or even clean linens and towels on a daily basis. We only got room cleaning 1 time over 7 nights....and this is in an open, non-COVID mask state. They also claim that the resort fee provides us with points we can use to get other services at another hotel (20 minute walk away) and beach rental company, however, we found they don't carry a lot of stuff and the "discounts" given to use the 3 points we get each day (you can't accumulate them) is minimal. Worthless.Lastly, the noise level in the rooms was off the charts. The area, while close to Waikiki beach, has a lot of noise on the streets most of the night. Trash pickup seemed to occur daily, police cars flying by hourly, and lots of partygoers late night below on the streets. Don't plan to sleep much here. There are a number of restaurants and bars in the area and you are a short 10 minute walk to the beach.Ultimately, the hotel is a bed. You could get similar accommodations at 1-2 star hotels and/or hostels. Save your money and book elsewhere, or spend a little more and stay somewhere else. For some context, I travel for work regularly. I stay pretty regularly at 3-4 star hotels and have stayed at many 2-3 stars when travelling personally. This hotel, is 2nd among the worst hotels I've stayed in across over 100+ hotels I have stayed in during my life.”
