The Talbott Hotel

“Stay the wonderful hotel we stayed at 30 years ago. Beat boutique hotel off on quiet Delaware street in the heart of downtown. Excellent stay. Vincent was both warm and welcoming at the front desk. “The Talbott was a great place for a weekend in Chicago. It's a little north of the action but much quieter and definitely close to good shopping and food, easy access to Ubers and the L, etc. The room we were given first was fairly small and the view looked directly at another building. The hotels position means most of the rooms have obstructed views so don't be expecting anything spectacular out the window especially if you come late in the week. We were in early in the week so we were able to be moved to one with more to see. The service would have been 5 stars but we ordered ice to the room twice for pre-dinner drinks and it never showed up one hour the first day and 2.5 hours the second day. The front desk was spectacular, Emily is great. And the waitstaff in the restaurant was very attentive. Also, the bell desk saw us walk right past into the hotel with our bags and didn't offer to help. At the time I thought maybe they were the valets or hosts for the restaurant but no, they justlet us walk by.”
