“I want to start off by saying that the bar staff and the rooms are the best part of this resort. Most of the bar staff are super friendly and more than happy to keep the beer/cocktails flowing. The rooms are modern, have a great layout, are very clean, and are overall a real selling point of this resort. Beyond that, nothing really felt special - it was pretty mediocre, including the food, and it seemed like they were really just doing the bare minimum to keep people from complaining too much. The resort staff was super disorganized, often had no idea what was going on, and made little effort to help. Asking questions to staff members (front desk, in particular) resulted in enormous frustration - they would either not give you an answer and tell you that they didn't know (made no effort to help) or would give you an incorrect answer, to which a different staff member would later give a different, but also incorrect answer. For example, to make dinner reservations we were told to call or stop by the front desk. When we called the front desk from the pool they told us that we had to go to the front desk and place the reservation in person (why??). We then talked to a staff member at the pool when they asked 'how things were going' and they radioed the front desk and made reservations on the spot - we found similar experiences nearly every time we tried to do something. We spent a lot of time during our stay just trying to hunt down answers. If you are going to be there during the week (and most likely you will be because people usually stay for a full week) be prepared to deal with the headache that is the resort restaurants. When we checked in we were told 'we have six restaurants, they are all great, all of them are open 6-10pm'. You will then find out that only one or two of the restaurants are open on any given day, and you will have to make reservations to get into at least one of them. We were bummed about this because they advertise that they have a bunch of food options at any given time, but really they don't. If they are advertising a $500 resort credit with your booking, don't factor that in. It isn't actually a resort credit, but rather a coupon book that is a ploy to get you to spend more money - for example, '$50 store credit' is only on branded merchandise and a minimum purchase of $100, '$50 off spa purchase' when the typical spa offerings were $150-$400, '$25 premium wine/liquor credit' when almost any drink you want is already included except wine that is $100-$1000/bottle.... but, I guess this is nice if you already planned on purchasing these anyway. The resort is far from anything, so don't plan on walking anywhere from the resort and plan to spend at least 30 minutes in a shuttle to get to places/excursions - not bad. The resort is on a steep hill, with the main lobby and restaurants at the top and the pool at the bottom. We walked up/down the hill several times in the first few days - got tired of that pretty quick and started to call for the golf carts to pick us up after that. It took 30 minutes to check out of the resort - no idea why. The front desk staff had no clue what was going on, ignored our questions when we asked what was taking so long, and then randomly walked away and out the front door, came back several minutes later and continued checking us out without saying anything. During the checkout the front door staff kept coming up to us and telling us that our shuttle was there and we must leave, and we kept answering that we were still trying to check out, and they made it seem like it was our fault that we were not out the door. The door staff and desk staff would not speak to each other. After we finally got on the shuttle to the airport (20 minutes late) they stopped the shuttle and told us that they needed our bracelets back, but they had to be cut off and so we waited another 5 minutes for them to find scissors. Weird, perplexing, and rude... a real theme for the resort staff.”
