“well, the rose garden was exceptionally disappointing. while the roses seem to be thriving from sheer neglect, the entry fee is a total rip off. so like, whatever: not worth it. spend your 5 euros/person on literally anything else.(the place looks like they fired their gardener years ago.)”

“We stayed in a two storey little 1 bedroom cottage, in the middle of the lush botanical gardens of Pestana Quinta do Arco. I believe these cottages are in the older part of the property and they have newer accomodations. So this review is solely for the 1 bedroom cottages. The kitchen of the cottage and the bathroom were a bit outdated with old appliances, a black plastic bucket served as kitchen bin, and the bathtub was designed poorly so you can't stand on it. The furniture, in particular the upholstered was a bit dirty and arranged strangely in the living room. We had a go at rearranging it and it changed the environment right away. The pillows were extremely high and hard, those with bits of foam inside, but the management upon our request changed them to soft ones. The breakfast venue is not on the premises but 200 meters away in an associated restaurant/tea house, which was fine and a nice morning walk. Despite all, we had a very good time, and I believe the place offered value for money just because of the gardens and the coziness of the cottage. It would be advisable for the management to review some details in the cottage that may seem unimportant but actually lower it's value considerably. Overall I recommend the stay, as the grounds are gorgeous.”
